zumodrive_250x250We just got news that Y Combinator startup Zumodrive will be expanding their operations to Singapore from mid February onwards. ZumoDrive, which just raised USD$1.5 million in funding a month back, will be looking to hire developers for their Singapore office. Kevin West, CTO of ZumoDrive, mentioned that he will be in Singapore in early February and will be keen on meeting people from the community, so do look out for that.

ZumoDrive, which was spun off from Y Combinator startup – Zecter, allows you to easily access all your documents, files and music over the cloud through multiple devices. Unlike other services like DropBox, ZumoDrive allows impressive streaming services, such as the streaming of your entire music library via iTunes over the cloud. This is a boon for frequent users of net-books and other mobile devices where the lack of hard disk space is a major concern. Developers keen on working for a cloud storage startup should definitely check out ZumoDrive’s jobs posting. Positions open for hiring include mobile application engineer, server software engineer, web frontend software engineer and a software test engineer. They are one of the few high profile Silicon Valley startup (Wikinvest is another one of them) who have set up an Asia Pacific presence in Singapore.

The cloud computing space looks to be heating up in Singapore for some reason. Before ZumoDrive, Amazon Web Services announced that they would be setting up their Asia Pacific cloud infrastructure in Singapore. We hope we’re not the only ones to be excited by all this.
