Calling All Innovators! Get ready to go global!

We are excited to announce that Forum Nokia is holding “Calling All Innovators“, a contest for developers in the Asia-Pacific region to create mobile applications that will solve real problems for real people around the world!

The contest was officially introduced in a launch event at Timbre @ The Arts House on Friday 31 October. The audience chilled out to food and beer while learning more about the S60 5.0 platform and the global contest.

There will be 3 categories of this contest:

1. Eco-Challenge (Applications that include reducing energy consumption, and/or foster eco-communities. Interest in applications for use with S60 platform devices.)
2. Emerging Markets (Applications should be specific to subjects that include education, health, infotainment, and rural agricultural services. Interest in applications for use with S40 and S60 platform devices.)
3. Technology Showdown (The true test of a real innovator. All applications will be considered, including those for Web Runtime (WRT) and Widgets, Java, Flash Lite. Interest in location-based services.)

Participants will stand to win:

• US$10,000
• 3-day, 2-night trip to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona where you get to demonstrate your winning application
• A chance to win the Grand Prize of US$35,000 when you compete with the other winners from Europe and North America at the Mobile World Congress
• Opportunity for your apps to be featured on Forum Nokia and other Nokia internal distribution channels
